Dean Whitehead, Sunderland’s midfielder, said in the news that the team is looking forward for three points. Three points will get them to the eighth spot. Whitehead also added that they are not looking at the teams below them because their goal is the eighth place.
The round 27 match between Sunderland and Tottenham was postponed and moved to round 28 last March 7. Both teams were tied. Sunderland team didn’t win any game in round 28. They were tied with Spurs last March 7 and they were defeated by Liverpool last March 3. They were scoreless while Liverpool has 2 points.
Wigan on the other hand is in good position right now. But Antoine Sibierski is a doubt in this match. Steve Bruce, Wigan Manager, said that Sibierski has a hamstring problem. The team is aiming for a victory for they haven’t win any single match since February and just last March 4 against West Ham.
